Garage Parking Pass Sales Information

West Chester University had the opportunity to acquire the Sharpless Street, New Street, Matlack Street and Student Recreation Center Garages from the Borough of West Chester and WCU will be assuming control of the operations in all the garages during the fall 2018 semester.  In light of this acquisition, some changes have been made to how the spaces in the garages will be allocated.

The Sharpless Street Garage has been allocated for use by WCU Employees.  Access passes for the Sharpless Street Garage are available on a semester or annual basis to employees.  Pre Tax Payroll Deduction is available to those who wish to choose that option or the passes can also be purchased in full at the time of registration.

The New Street Garage has been allocated for use by qualified students (those with 30 or more credits earned prior to the start of the fall semester).  Access passes for the New Street Garage are available on a semester basis only.

The Matlack Street Garage will continue to require hanging permits as it has been.  Employees and Commuter Students with valid WCU "E" or "C" hanging permits will be allowed to park in this garage.

The Student Recreation Center Garage has been allocated for use by WCU Employees.  Access passes for the Student Recreation Center Garage are available on a semester or annual basis to employees.  Pre Tax Payroll Deduction is available to those who wish to choose that option or the passes can also be purchased in full at the time of registration.

*Please be aware that Garage Passes are limited and sales are based on a first come first serve basis*

What do the passes for the Parking Garage cost?

  • Sharpless Street Garage: (Employees) Fall & Spring Semesters - $260 each semester or $670 for an annual that includes both academic semesters and the summer sessions
  • New Street Garage: (Students) Fall & Spring Semesters - $200 each semester
  • Matlack Street Garage: (Employees & Commuters) - $30 for an annual parking permit
  • Student Recreation Center Garage: (Employees) Fall & Spring Semesters - $260 each semester or $670 for an annual that includes both academic semesters and the summer sessions
  • All Garages except Matlack Street: Summer Passes (includes both Summer I & Summer II sessions) - $150

How do I purchase a pass for the Parking Garages?

  • All employees will receive an email from WCU Public Safety on Friday, August 17th and students will receive an email on Monday, August 20th.  The email will contain a link to the registration page for garage pass sales.  The email will also provide a code for registration purposes.  The codes for employees and students are different so that passes can be verified for the appropriate garages.
  • For employees, you will be asked to choose either the pay in full option or payroll deduction option in addition to whether you wish to purchase a semester pass or an annual pass.  Employee passes will be available to pick-up at the People's Building beginning Monday, August 20th between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.  Those who are opting for payroll deduction will be required to complete and sign a waiver when picking up the pass, allowing the payroll office to make the deduction.
  • For qualified students, you will only be able to purchase a pass for the semester and the cost will need to be paid at the time of registration.  Passes will be available for pick-up at the Sharpless Street Garage beginning Thursday, August 23rd between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.

*First Year Resident Students are not permitted to have a vehicle on campus and are not eligible to purchase a pass for the parking garages or for the surface lots on campus.  First Year Commuter Students may purchase a $30 hanging permit to park at South Campus, but may not purchase a pass for the garages.
