Housing Information 2021-2022

Incoming Freshmen

Incoming first-year students who have paid their admission deposit will receive an e-mail with instructions for choosing their on-campus housing on a rolling basis, starting in mid-March.  After that, the e-mails are typically sent within a week of the payment of the admissions deposit.  An additional $200 housing deposit/fee will be required.

Waitlist Information (updated 4/20/2021)

Eligibility:

Any currently enrolled WCU undergraduate student is eligible to submit a Housing Waitlist Application.

Students who were admitted as first-year or transfer students for Fall 2021 will be sent housing materials separately.  The housing waitlist is not for this population of students.

Timeline:

On-going through the Summer: Students will be updated via e-mail regarding the status of the waitlist and/or housing offers.

Process:
  • This waitlist is for current students seeking spaces in the North Campus Traditional residence halls, the South Campus Apartments, or College Arms Apartments.  College Arms spaces are very limited and will only be offered to students with 60+ credits.
  • Waitlist applications will be available to all undergraduate students starting on Wednesday, April 21.  Waitlist priority will be determined as follows:
Students who have scholarships that include on-campus housing
Active Military and Veterans
International Students
Students who will graduate at the end of the Fall 2021 semester
When students in these priority groups are accommodated, we will process applications in the order in which they were received, based on available spaces.

  • If spaces are available, students will be contacted via e-mail and will generally have 48 business hours to respond to the offer.  During the last three weeks of August, a response may be required within 24 hours.  Students should check their WCU e-mail daily Monday—Friday to ensure they do not miss an offer of housing.
  • Most spaces offered will be in the South Campus Apartments.  Students will have the ability to let us know their preferences on their application.  We recommend that you include the South Campus Apartments as a choice if you want to be offered a space.
Additional Information:
  • If you have a financial hold on your account, you will not be able to complete the application. Please work with the Bursar’s Office to resolve your hold before contacting our office.
  • Students who require local housing in order to attend West Chester University are encouraged to pursue other options, including University Student Housing communities or off-campus housing.
  • Graduate students are not eligible for Traditional (University-owned) housing. Graduate students should contact University Student Housing at leasing@ushcommunities.org for more information.
