Academic Advising
Your Academic Advisor
Your Academic Advisor is a faculty member who can guide you through academic decision-making, major and career exploration, and scheduling appropriate classes for your major or intended major.
- All first-year ASP students are advised by faculty in the ASP.
- Second-year students who are in Pre-Business or Exploratory Studies continue to be advised by their ASP advisor until they are accepted into their intended major.
- Second-year students who are already in a major receive a new advisor in their major department.
Student Role & Responsibility
You are expected to take charge of your future by actively participating in the planning and decision-making that shape your education and career. Ultimately, you are responsible for your academic success!
- Be proactive and ask questions.
- Reach out for support the moment a problem comes up.
- Become familiar with the University Catalog. Know the requirements for your major and become familiar with how to find university policies and procedures.
- Review your academic information in RamPortal to make sure everything is accurate.
