Mentoring & Learning Support in the Academic Success Program

ASP provides multiple avenues for mentoring and learning support for students in the program. Students can meet with a professional staff member dedicated to their success, and/or check-in with one of ASP’s Peer Assistants or Grad Assistants.

Peer Assistants

Peer Assistants serve as mentors and role models to students and form links between the students, the ASP, and other resources within the University. Peer Assistants foster an environment that is conducive to the enhancement of academic, social, and personal development of students, and encourage a sense of community in the residence hall. Each Peer Assistant is assigned a peer group of 12-14 students. They facilitate weekly peer group and individual meetings, facilitate recreational, social, community service, and educational programs, and accompany students to all ASP events.
