Greetings from the President's Office

Watch the President's Welcome

President Fiorentino

Welcome new Golden Rams, and welcome back to our returning students. While we share in your disappointment that conditions made it unsafe for all of us to come together in person this fall, we’re excited about the innovative ways we plan to stay connected as a campus community. You will feel the Ram Pride from day one!

Today, more than ever, West Chester University offers unlimited opportunities for developing your unique skills and talents, advancing your personal and career objectives, and applying classroom lessons to the wider world. The entire campus community is committed to helping you meet your goals, now and into the future.  Virtual career fairs and networking opportunities will connect you to employers and graduate programs. The Counseling Office is here to support you with virtual services and, on a more limited basis, in-person appointments.  Individualized coaching by the Wellness Promotion Office can help you tackle stress, find community and become your very best self.

You may be going to WCU remotely this fall but that doesn’t mean you can’t join a club, participate in a leadership training, or power through a virtual exercise class with the Rec Center. There are many ways to get involved in one or more of our 280-plus student organizations. Don’t miss the virtual Fall Involvement Fair on August 26 to learn more. (You can register for the fair on Ram Connect.)

This past spring, Student Affairs offered virtual cooking classes, online multicultural mentoring, and a 52-event speaker series featuring Zoom meet-ups with actor Joshua Triplett and radio personality Sway Calloway, to name just a few. Other units and divisions on campus were just as active – the Office of Sustainability celebrated Earth Week with workshops with Al Gore and other environmental leaders. This fall’s co-curricular experience promises to be just as amazing!

You are an integral part of the Ram community. It’s our connection and commitment to each other that keeps us strong and resolute in the face of any obstacle. Together, we’ve got this! Best wishes for a successful and happy academic year.
