New Student Organizations

Thank you for your interest in starting a new undergraduate student organization at WCU. First, we encourage you to explore RamConnect to see if any of our 300+ student organizations match your current interests. If so, we encourage you to connect with that organization first.

If you do not see something that matches your interest, you can begin the process of starting a new student organization.

The student organization recognition process is outlined in the Student Organization Recognition Policy .

Please make sure to set-up a time to talk with Student Engagement staff regarding the process for starting a new organization. Students seeking to start a new organization will need to secure a faculty/staff advisor, create bylaws, recruit members, get trained, and more. This will be discussed in the initial meeting.

This meeting can be scheduled by emailing engagement@wcupa.edu with the name of your organization and purpose statement.

If you are seeking to start a sports club, please note that in your email so that we can direct you to Campus Recreation staff.

Request to Organize Form for Spring 2026

The Request to Organize Form will be open from February 2nd to March 6th.  After you submit the form with the student contact, name and purpose of the organization, and the faculty/staff advisor, the Office of Student Engagement will send you an email that your organization is now "forming." After this, the student organization has one calendar year to complete the process. Please be sure to connect with Student Engagement staff before completing the form.
