Cyber Security Awareness Month

  • Don't get fooled by job scams
  • Check Handshake - Handshake is home to all the job postings that get filtered and approved by the University. Log onto Handshake and search for open job postings from the so-called company offering you a position. If you find nothing, it might be a scam!
  • Google Search - Do a quick search of the company and the job title together. Does this company have a website? Is there more information about the position online? If the answer is no, stay away!
  • Look Up on LinkedIn - Your last shot is to give them a try on LinkedIn tho check out the company page, find other employees, and gain additional information about the position in question. If you still find nothign, it's a scam & you should delete and report the email!
  • Remember: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is! If you receive a suspicious email & don't know if it's fake, you can always call the Career Center at 610-436-2501 for help!
