When are you open?

We are open 10am-4pm on weekdays. However, the Pantry closes for office-wide events and university closures. The Pantry operates on limited hours during Winter and Summer break. For our most up-to-date hours, follow @wcupantry on Instagram, consult signage hanging in the Pantry, or check our website.

What does the Pantry offer?

The Pantry offers food, personal care, and residence life items to students in need. The Pantry also houses The Benefits Hub which can assist students with public benefits such as SNAP and Medicaid.

Who can shop?

Undergraduate students & graduate students currently enrolled at WCU may shop at the Pantry. Students can shop regardless of whether they have a meal plan or not.

How often can I shop?

Once per day we are open. Appointments are not required to shop at the Pantry.

How do I register?

Students may register in-person any day when the Pantry is open. Students are not required to show any documentation to register. Students must re-register once every academic year.

What if I can’t make it when you’re open?

Online ordering is currently being reworked by Pantry staff and will not be available for the Fall 2025 semester.

The West Chester Food Cupboard is a local resource that serves WCU students about a 5-minute drive from campus. There is a campus shuttle that takes students there every Saturday morning. You can learn more about their full hours of operation one their website: https://westchesterfoodcupboard.org/

Are you hiring?

We are not hiring for the 2025-26 academic year. Keep an eye on HandShake and our Instagram for any potential employment opportunities in the Spring. Please note that the Resource Pantry prioritizes Federal Work Study eligible applicants.

Do you still offer meal swipes?

We offer limited meal swipes to students in need, prioritizing those without an active meal plan. The swipes we distribute are donated, thus are distributed on an as-available basis. If you’d like to inquire about swipes, please email Pantry@wcupa.edu.

Can I/my org volunteer?

We do not host volunteers in the Pantry as we have student staff that are trained in maintaining the confidentiality of the shoppers and sanitation of the space. If you would like to host a donation drive or fundraiser to benefit the Pantry, email pantry@wcupa.edu.

If you are interested in volunteer opportunities surrounding food security, we encourage you to check out the WCU Campus Gardens, The West Chester Food Cupboard, or The Chester County Food Bank.

What donated items do you accept?

We accepted any unopened/unexpired shelf-stable food or toiletry item. We do not accept clothing, linens, or school supplies due to lack of space. The Career Closet is now located in the Career Development Center. Please note our accepted items list & our Amazon Wish List.
