What is modular housing? 

Modular housing refers to prefabricated housing units that are constructed off-site and then assembled on campus. These units are fully functional, including utilities such as electricity, plumbing, and HVAC, and are designed to accommodate students comfortably.

Where is Matlack Court located?

Matlack Court is located on North Campus at the corner of East Matlack Street and East Campus Drive (near the Swope Music Building and E.O. Bull Center).

Why Matlack Court?

This court-style modular housing provides the swing space needed for the University to begin deferred maintenance projects on other on-campus housing units while we pursue authorization to renovate existing buildings or add something new for a greater number of beds.

Who is eligible to live in Matlack Court? 

Returning WCU students (sophomores, juniors, and seniors) are eligible to apply for modular housing. Modular housing is offered through the WCU Managed Housing Returning Student Housing Application.

When will Matlack Court be opened?

Matlack Court opened in August 2025.

What are the rates for housing and meal plans?

Housing rates and meal plan costs can be found on the Housing Rates website.

What furniture is included in the Matlack Court rooms?
