Announcements

CSA Training
I am sending all the CSA training courses, except the summer camp staff course, to dry-dock. Once there, they will be reviewed, and any necessary edits will be made. Because I need to deactivate the courses to edit them, the CSA courses will be offline and thus inaccessible beginning May 1.  I expect the courses to be reactivated, or back out to sea, by the middle of August, just in time for annual CSA training

Summer Camp Staff CSA training
I am already receiving a list of hires for summer camps and programs. Since these folks are CSAs, they will be added to the Clery compliance database and assigned CSA training. Unlike last year, I am assigning training in cohorts. Cohort One will be assigned training on April 27, 2026, and thereafter. CSAs, working camps, and programs that have later start dates will be assigned to later cohorts.

Be Clear on Clery

If you will not be on campus this summer, or will be on campus sporadically, you must report any crimes disclosed to you BEFORE you leave campus.  Most, if not all, of the auditing of crime reports is done over the summer, so having a complete set of reports helps ensure no reports are missed.

Upcoming Clery Dates

April 27, 2026- the first day of CSA training for Summer Camp

Clery Fact/Did You Know

The Daily Crime Log actually encompasses TWO jurisdictions. There is an additional geographic location that applies exclusively to the crime log. In addition to reporting reported crimes occurring on campus, in or on non-campus buildings or property, or on public property. Reports of crimes that occurred within the patrol jurisdiction of the campus police or security department must also be entered into the crime log.
A patrol jurisdiction or patrol zone is any property that does not meet any of the Clery Act geographic area definitions, but is regularly patrolled by the institution's security or police agency.
Patrols are typically performed pursuant to an agreement with the local or state government.
Does West Chester have a patrol zone? No, West Chester University Police do not have a patrol zone beyond the boundaries of campus. They will assist the surrounding agencies (Borough, West Goshen, Westtown-East Goshen, PSP, etc.)

These are not the institution's official Clery statistics. These numbers are a snapshot of where WCU stands as far as Clery-reportable crimes occurring within its Clery geography as of the date above. These numbers can and will change after internal audits are conducted prior to their official publication in the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report.
**This category is a subcategory of 'On Campus' property. The institution is required to report statistics for incidents occuring in on-campus student housing facilities as a subgroup of its on campus statistics.
