Constitution Day is September 17
Overview
Constitution Day celebrates the signing of possibly one of the most important documents in modern history. For 239 years this piece of paper has been subject to much dispute. It has been modified, put to the test in courts of law, created the backbone of our law system, and has kept our government in line. It was signed in our own backyard of Philadelphia. It is the Constitution of the United States, signed on September 17, 1787 by members of the Constitutional Convention.
How to celebrate!
There are countless ways to celebrate our nation's Constitution, here are just a few:
- Faculty and group leaders can access innovative online teaching tools to discuss the Constitution in the classroom.
- Read about the Constitution! Plenty of interesting information about the constitution can be found here on the Interactive Constitution.
- Celebrate everyday by knowing and exercising your rights! Learning what each amendment means and what it allows you to do as a citizen is a great way to honor the Constitution.

League of Women Voters of Chester County 2026
Thursday, September 17
Sykes Student Union - 11am to 3pm
The League of Women Voters of Chester County is confirmed for tabling on Constitution Day, September 17th, 11AM to 3PM in front of the Sykes Student Union building (or inside by the dining area pending weather) and will also be tabling subsequently at that location and with the same timeframe September 29th, October 8th, and October 15th.
WCU Votes
As a public higher education institution, West Chester University is committed to supporting an informed and engaged electorate through nonpartisan voter education and civic participation. The University does not endorse any candidate, party, or ballot measure; these resources are intended solely to help members of our community exercise their right to vote. The faculty, staff, and students all have an invaluable role and opportunity to vote, and we are hopeful that these nonpartisan tools are instructive and helpful. The University also proudly serves as a polling location through its Student Recreation Center and Graduate Center for the Borough of West Chester and West Goshen Township, respectively, in partnership with Chester County. We encourage everyone to confirm their registration status, make a plan to vote, and share these resources with colleagues, students, and peers.
