The mission of the Department of Nutrition in the College of Health Sciences at West Chester University is to shape tomorrow's nutrition and dietetics professionals and leaders through quality, relevant, and innovative teaching, service and scholarship.
The Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Degree from West Chester University offers students the most flexibility in career paths within the field of nutrition by offering three concentrations:
The curriculum for all first-year students is the same, so ideally students will select a concentration when they are scheduling courses for their third semester. All students should work with their academic advisor to help choose which curriculum they will follow.

NEW Graduate Distance Dietetic Internship - MS applications accepted during the fall 2018 and DICAS applications in Spring 2019
The DI Track and Distance DI certificate will accept a combined maximum of 20 graduate students annually.
DI Track: The DI track will offer two application options: 1) pre-select (early application & admission) for WCU students enrolled in the BS/MSCN in nutrition and dietetics "Accelerated" program, and 2) a graduate study option for students with DPD verification and acceptance into the WCU MSCN program. Note: Students interested in the DI Track must first be admitted to the MSCN, and admission to the MSCN does not guarantee admission to the DI track.
Post Master's DI Certificate: Post-Master's applicants must meet all WCU Graduate Program admission requirements. In addition, applicants must have earned a master's degree in nutrition, with a minimum 3.25 grade point average, and submit a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) verification to apply for the DI certificate program.
The DI requires a full-time (10 months) commitment while completing the 1200 supervised practice hours. Interns are required to attend a 3-day orientation on campus and to secure sites for rotations that last a minimum of 300-400 hours per area (clinical, community and foodservice).
