Curriculum Vitae
Ann Hiloski-Fowler joined the Wells School of Music (WSOM) faculty in 2010 and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses and seminars in music history as well as the WSOM’s first-year experience course. In her role as a Student Success Coordinator, Ann leads and facilitates WSOM undergraduate advising, supporting faculty and advising students across all years and music majors, with a particular focus on transfer students and those in the Music Elective Studies degree.
Ann studied musicology as a doctoral fellow at Rutgers University, studying with Dr. Floyd Grave. She received a Master of Arts in music history, researching the political ramifications of the symphonic works of Anton Bruckner, and a Master of Music in horn performance from Rutgers. Ann earned a Bachelor of Music in horn performance from the University of North Texas. While at Rutgers, Ann recorded with the Rutgers Wind Ensemble and performed with the Rutgers University Orchestra at Lincoln Center in New York City.
Currently, she is a doctoral candidate at West Chester University (WCU), pursuing a Doctorate of Education in Policy, Planning, and Administration, on the Higher Education Administration track, studying with Dr. Orkideh Mohajeri. Her research focuses on contingent (adjunct) faculty’s experiences developing identities as educators and professors in U.S. higher education. In November 2025, Ann presented her dissertation as a work in progress at the 50th annual meeting of the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE) in Denver, Colorado.
Prio to teaching at WCU, Ann taught at the University of Delaware-Wilmington, Widener University, Temple University, and Saint Joseph's University (Pennsylvania).
