ELECTIVES

In addition to required curricula, students must take three electives (9 credits) to complete the MSW degree. We offer an array of electives throughout the year and in various formats including semester-long classes in spring and fall, summer sessions, online courses, and intensive week-long courses in winter, spring and summer. Students may take electives at the Philadelphia and West Chester locations, regardless of their affiliation.

Below are electives offered within the Department of Graduate Social Work (SWG). Students may also be approved to take courses offered by other departments, such as Psychology, Criminal Justice, Health, Nursing, and Public Policy and Administration. To qualify for graduate credit, courses must be listed as “graduate-level”, which are indexed at 500 or above. Approval must be obtained by the MSW Graduate Coordinator or Faculty Advisor.

Course descriptions can be found in the Courses section of the Graduate Catalog.
