Melissa Adams–Budde earned her B.S. in elementary education from the University of Maryland, College Park; her M.S. in reading education from John Hopkins University; and her Ph.D. in teacher education from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. She was an elementary teacher for nine years. Her research interests explore students’ development as readers and writers and how teachers can support this development.
