VOICES is a student-led, peer-reviewed, open-access journal that seeks to help social workers raise their voices around issues of social justice. The first issue was published in the spring of 2011. That fall the journal's pioneering editors, Kristin Bartell, Elena Gregorio, and Burgandy Holiday, presented their work at the annual meeting of the Council on Social Work Education in Atlanta.

We are seeking submissions for the Spring 2017 issue. We invite personal perspectives on issues of social justice, submitted as original prose, poetry, artwork, or photography. All current and former students of the MSW Program at WCU are invited to submit. Written submissions should be double-spaced, and fomatted in APA style, in 12-point font with one-inch margins, along with a cover page with contact information.

Please send all submissions for VOICES to Dr. Julie Tennille, faculty advisor. The journal has rolling submissions which will be reviewed as we receive them. All submissions will be de-identified before student editors review them.
