Main Areas of Interest: Multicultural Clinical Practice

Inspiration

Religion and spirituality have always played a role in my self. In my undergrad, I was introduced to social work. Prior to that I had done a lot of volunteer work since a younger age. In high school, I took a social justice class that was rooted in faith and action. That was the seed planted on how to live in this work. I discovered that spirituality is by its very nature inclusive, while religion can tend to be exclusive, but it doesn't have to be that way. Questions are not the problem; it's the fear of the questions that are the problem because it blocks the development. I urge those around me to not be afraid of all the different sides of life and to always be open to new experiences. After all, relationships are the heart of our existence.
