Biography

Dr. Wade joined the Department of Public Policy and Administration in 2013 and teaches courses in the Master of Public Administration program. After teaching high school for five years in southwest Missouri, she received her MPA from Missouri State University in 2004 and her PhD from Southern Illinois University in 2009. From 2009-2013, Dr. Wade was an assistant professor at Northwest Missouri State University where she served as the advisor and internship supervisor for the undergraduate Public Administration major. At Northwest Missouri State University, she taught courses in Public Administration, Urban Politics, Organizational Theory, Public Policy, Women and American Politics, and American Government. Dr. Wade's research interests focus on how people construct and negotiate social identities (such as gender, race, and ethnicity) in community organizations and how those organizations can create opportunities for both exclusion and empowerment in regards to local governance. She currently teaches courses in Foundations of Public Service, Research Methods, and Staffing & Development.
