West Chester University offers several integrated onboarding programs and initiatives
that provide newly hired employees with the information and resources they need to
adjust to the social and performance aspects of their new role. Employees are encouraged
to participate in all programs.
NEW RAM ONLINE ORIENTATION
New Ram Online Orientation introduces new employees to West Chester University by providing an overview of our mission, vision, values, strategic priorities, and campus culture. Throughout the modules, you'll learn about key departments and partnerships, discover the resources available to support your success, and gain practical information to help you navigate both the University and the surrounding community. Designed to complement your department's onboarding, the information will help you feel informed, connected, and prepared to thrive in your new role. We recommend completing all modules within your first 90 days of employment.
STAFF PROGRAMS
Benefits Orientation provides an overview of the University's benefits programs, helping benefits-eligible employees understand the resources available to support their health, financial well-being, and overall wellness. All benefits-eligible staff will meet with a member of Human Resources for Benefits Orientation. Please refer to your offer letter for your scheduled date and time. If your start date changes, your session will be rescheduled.
Departmental Orientation builds upon the foundation established in New Ram Online Orientation by helping employees understand how the University's mission, vision, values, strategic priorities, and campus culture come to life within their department. Supervisors play a critical role in this process by reviewing the employee's job responsibilities, discussing performance expectations, and explaining how the position contributes to departmental, divisional, and University strategic priorities that ultimately support student success. Employees are encouraged to discuss any questions they have about the information presented in New Ram Online Orientation with their supervisor and use departmental orientation as an opportunity to connect their learning to their day-to-day responsibilities.

FACULTY ORIENTATION
West Chester University has developed New Faculty Orientation to provide an overview of the mission, values, and strategic goals of the University and provides you with information to support your success at West Chester University. This program provides an opportunity to meet faculty and administrators in key leadership roles, and other new faculty. The program has been designed to provide critical information regarding expectations of the appointment, as well as the benefits and resources available to faculty. Sessions occur annually in August.
