Loans and Reservations

Loan Policy

Faculty

Equipment may be borrowed by Teacher Education faculty for use in the classroom, at professional meetings, and for research purposes.
Faculty should first check if their department has the equipment (e.g., laptops) before arranging a loan.
Equipment should be requested at least 3 days in advance.
The initial loan period is three days and loans may be renewed if equipment is not requested by others. Special arrangements for longer loan periods may be made on occasion.

Student

Education students may borrow equipment to use for presentations and Teacher Education assignments.
Some equipment (e.g., camcorders, iPads, laptops) is available for use in the field - with permission of the Tech Center staff.
Equipment should be requested 3 days in advance of need.
Late fees may be incurred, if equipment is not returned after 3 days.

Available Technology

MacBook Pro Laptops

The COE Tech Center has many options for students and faculty who need access to MacBook Pro Laptops. We offer a laptop cart that can be checked out for faculty use in the classroom. We also offer semester loans for student teachers who are assigned to Mac K-12 schools. There are also select MacBook Pros for students to borrow for up to three days.

PC Laptops

The COE Tech Center has many options for students and faculty who need access to PC laptops. We have PC laptop carts that can be checked out for faculty use in the classroom. We also offer semester loans for student teachers. There are also select PC laptops that students may borrow for up to three days.

Digital & Flip Cameras

Digital Camcorders & Flip Cameras

The COE Tech Center has multiple digital filming options available to faculty and staff. We offer flip cameras as well as Panasonic digital video recorders. Recording devices may be borrowed by faculty as class sets, or by individuals for short term loans.

iPads

The COE Tech Center has multiple sets of iPads for student and faculty use. We offer iPad classroom carts for faculty use in the classroom. We also offer semester loans for student teachers. Additionally, we have iPads that students may borrow for up to three days. Each set comes with apps pre-installed. New apps are only installed between semesters.

Tripods

The COE Tech Center has tripods of varying size that can be checked out for use with the digital video recorders. The tripods are compatible with both the Flip Cameras as well as the Panasonic digital video recorders.

Personal Response System (PRS)

Personal Response System (PRS

The COE Tech Center has Personal Response System (PRS) class sets that can be checked out by faculty for use in the classroom with SMART Board systems. The PRS allows for faculty to get feedback from students in real time to assess their understanding of the coursework.

Portable Projectors

The COE Tech Center has a variety of portable projectors for use by faculty and students. Projectors may be borrowed for faculty and students attending conferences as well as for classroom and field use.

Document Cameras (ELMO)

The COE Tech Center has a multiple ELMO document cameras available. ELMOs can be borrowed by faculty and students for short term loan on campus.

Digital Voice Recorders

The COE Tech Center has multiple portable, digital voice recorders. Digital voice recorders may be checked out by faculty and students for short term loan.

Digital Cameras

The COE Tech Center has multiple digital camera options for both faculty and students. These cameras are available for short term loans during the semester.

Mac Adapters

The COE Tech Center offers VGA Mac Adapters for faculty and students that need to connect their Apple computer or iPad to a projector. These adapters are available to students and faculty for short term loan.

Mimio

The COE Tech Center now offers Mimio interactive hardware for use on campus and in the field. Mimio is available to students and faculty for short term loans.
