TECHNOLOGY CENTER OVERVIEW

The College of Education Technology Center supports technology integration throughout the Teacher Preparation Program. It works with faculty and students to develop the technology skills needed in 21^st century classrooms. Services provided through the Technology Center enable faculty and students to succeed in teaching and learning in technology rich environments.

Equipment Loans

The Tech Center loans equipment for use by faculty and students throughout the Teacher Preparation Program. Laptops and iPads can be borrowed for short-term and long-term loan based on need.

Workshops and Training

The Tech Center staff provides training on both hardware and software. Training is delivered in a workshop setting as well as individually. Some topics of training include: SmartBoard, Weebly, Piktochart, iMovie, iPad apps, video transfer and Swivl use. Training may be individually requested.

Emergent Technology

The Tech Center staff stays current with emergent technology being use in education. We offer training in 3D printing, AirPlay, Hour of Code, Double telepresence robot, and ways to incorporate into classroom instruction.

Technology Maintenance

Routine maintenance by the Tech Center includes routine checking, cleaning, and updating of technology loaned by the Tech Center in COE classrooms . We also maintain the MAC lab in REC306.

Troubleshooting

Tech Center staff will help faculty with setting up and troubleshooting equipment. We prefer to troubleshoot or set up well in advance of need. While we make every attempt to respond to emergencies, staff availability is limited. We cannot always respond immediately.
