West Chester University and the American College of Norway are partnering to offer a Master in Public Health (MPH) with a focused elective area in Nutrition. The MPH program is a 45 credit program offered in a completely online format culminated by three rotations in local healthcare settings.
Format
The MPH in Nutrition can be completed in either an online format or a combination of online and traditional face-to-face learning. The online courses offer synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities.

Applied Learning Experience
The Applied Learning Experience (ALE) is the culminating activity for the MPH Program. This practicum and culminating activity is a planned, supervised and evaluated learning experience. The purpose of this practicum and culminating activity is to allow students to integrate core MPH competencies with selected specialties and to employ newly acquired skills and knowledge to a current public health problem in a community setting. The Applied Learning Experience includes 300 hours of practitioner based learning and the implementation of a major project. Examples of major projects or culminating activities include: research projects, program development, program evaluation and case studies.
Students who are physicians will have the opportunity to use the ALE as a residency in gerontology. The year-long residency experience will include shadowing U.S. doctors in settings focused on the aging population such as hospitals or retirement communities.
